RIVER PUB LUNCH/QUIZ

On Sunday 13th November Patsy organised a pub lunch Quiz

Those of you who were at yesterday’s Sunday lunch & quiz at The River Pub won’t need telling what a successful and enjoyable event it was. As usual people arrived way before the published starting time – fortunately the complementary Buck Fizz was ready waiting for them. An excellent Sunday roast was served just after one, followed by some delicious pudds, the quiz then started at 2.30 conducted by Ray Lish who we thought had the loudest voice in Limassol until young James called out the raffle winning numbers!

Thanks go to the River Pub and all it’s staff for putting on a very good lunch and coping very well with an oversubscribed number of guests. Thanks to Grace and her helpers for selling raffle tickets and especially to James & Alex (Ann Illingworth’s grandsons) for being very efficient in collecting monies and selling the tickets.

But extra special thanks must go to Patsy for organising such a successful event, she put a lot of hard work into it when she hasn’t been feeling 100% – selling tickets, organising the tables in the pub and most of all setting the quiz which as usual was very hard!! Thank you Patsy.

The total amount raised was ?367 including raffle, book sales and donations.

Due to the success of this event we hope to hold another one in February. We also took ticket orders for the Xmas lunch at Philipos on 8th December so people obviously enjoy our fundraising events.

Also yesterday the Amathus Riding School held a horse show, they asked us to have a stall there but clashing with the lunch we weren’t able to take them up on their kind offer but they held a raffle with some of our prizes and raised ?41 for the

sanctuary.

Hope to see a lot of you at the Xmas lunch on the 8th. Tickets available very soon from Grace, Pauline or Patsy.
