Our annual Barn Dance held last Saturday at Sunshine Taverna on CuriumBeachwas as usual a great success. The 150 tickets sold out very quickly for this very popular event and there were still people ringing on the day asking for tickets. Although the advertised start time was 7.30pm people started arriving just after 7pm all very eager to start dancing the night away - but they had to wait until after a very delicious buffet was served.
The dancing swiftly followed and there was no problem getting people up on the floor, ably assisted by Sue the caller and her husband Graham playing the electric accordion. They were very patient with the dancers when they kept making the wrong moves and going in different directions! There was a short break in the proceedings to have the raffle and then the dancing continued until almost midnight.
The event generated €1462.50 – a very useful contribution to help maintain the furry residents at the sanctuary.Thank you to all who supported us and I think you will agree it was a very enjoyable night.
