Fundraising Event success
Thanks to Patsy & Helen for there hard work & efforts this week & especially to all MCPS supporters
Patsy’s quiz on Monday was the usual fun night even though we had fewer teams and only 5 supporters from the sanctuary!
Brenda and Phyl at the Ploughman’s are always so welcoming and love having us there which makes for a good night to start with.
The highlight of the evening was Pauline, Len, Caron and Julie’s team beating the Foley’s teachers. The losing team who traditionally win the bottle of Cr?me de Menthe had to promise not to give it back so it was broken open and everyone had to suffer a glass!
Thanks to Patsy who spends a lot of time thinking up the very difficult and imaginative questions and also to our supporters & of course the other fundraising
events this week! We raised the very healthy sum of ?74 for the needy cats and kittens.
Which leads me on to the coffee morning held today at Helen Arnous’ house. The word went round that Helen makes some marvellous cakes and scones and nobody was disappointed. Proceeds from the cakes, coffees & teas on sale came to ?119 so that shows how good they were. In total we made ?178.80 so well done Helen and thank you for offering to have the event in your house. It was good to see some new faces who might not have been aware of the sanctuary.
Any one who like to hold a similar event in their house please do get in touch with me or any one else on the committee. It’s a good way to raise money for the sanctuary and is also a very good social occasion.
The next fundraiser is the car boot sale at Linopetra this Saturday. Thank you to all those who have volunteered to help which will be in some very hot temperatures – we do have some umbrellas to shelter under and there will be enough of us to get some time off!
Even if you haven’t offered to help on the stall please do come along and visit and maybe buy some treasure or trinket!
